JOSEPH! .. SO MUCH LIKE JESUS!
The life of Joseph is an amazing true story of a man who typifies CHRIST JESUS.
The life of Joseph runs in three periods..
1. THE BELOVED SON.
2. THE SUFFERING SERVANT.
3. AN EXALTED SAVIOUR.
1.THE BELOVED SON.
He was greatly loved by his father Jacob, which caused much jealousy from his brothers.
JESUS is the Well Beloved of the Father. As God delights in his Son .. He also delights in you!
2. JOSEPH WAS PROPHETIC.
The prophesies were so acurate, yet
not believed by his brothers, which heightened their jealousy.
JESUS PROPHESIED..THE WORLD INTO EXISTENCE.
Heb1:2. His whole life was a
Fulfilment of Prophesy.
You may not have the office of a Prophet .. yet you can speak into lives of other people through the POWER of THE HOLY SPIRIT.
3. JOSEPH WAS A MESSENGER,
for his Father.
“I WILL SEND YOU UNTO THEM.” (His brothers)
SO IS JESUS THE DIVINE MESSENGER OF GOD THE FATHER. To the Woman at the well He said, “My meat is to do the WILL OF MY FATHER WHO SENT ME”
John 4:34.
4. HATED BY HIS BROTHERS.
Joseph was hated by his brothers. Also this is true of CHRIST! The same words are used for both.
Compare these Scriptures. Gen 37:8.
John 15:24.
5. SOLD!
Both were sold .. JOSEPH FOR 20 pieces of silver .. JESUS FOR 30 pieces of Silver.
6. SUFFERED.
He suffered in the THE PIT .. THE SLAVE MARKET .. POTIPHAR’S HOUSE .. IN PRISON. YET GOD WAS WITH HIM..
Are you, suffering at the present?
Abuse .. Rejection .. Damaged reputation .. Imprisonment .. Feeling Forgotten and lonely.
Jesus Christ suffered for you as..
“THE JUST FOR THE UNJUST, THAT HE MIGHT BRING US TO GOD.”
No person on the earth suffered as He.
JESUS paid the penalty for the sin of the world.
“THE SINLESS SON OF GOD..
WHO KNEW NO SIN, BECAME SIN FOR YOU AND ME”
OH, THE INTENSE SUFFERING OF OUR DEAR LORD JESUS.
7. THE EXALTED SAVIOUR!
We see that Joseph was exalted from the Prison to the Palace, to the right hand of Pharaoh, second to him.
THIS WAS A VINDICATION AND A REWARD.
So it is with CHRIST JESUS ..
“HE HUMBLED HIMSELF..WHEREFORE GOD HIGHLY EXALTED HIM AND GIVEN HIM A NAME THAT IS ABOVE EVERY OTHER NAME”
“And every knee shall “BOW BEFORE HIM” and confess that, “HE IS LORD! TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER.” Phil 2:5-11.
His Blood still speaks today !!!
