As I said in the previous study Moses was very hesitant to obey the call of God to deliver Israel out of servitude to Egypt.
He was happy for God to send someone else! God reveals His Name to encourage Moses that His Name is made in connection with whatever he needed.
There can be no need of man to whom His Name does not answer! Man’s true resource is God Himself.
Today we come to the Father in the NAME OF JESUS THROUGH HIS BLOOD. He said, “If you ask the Father anything in my name, He will do it !!”
Moses had asked the Lord God, “who can l say has sent me?” He replied, “I Am “ has sent me unto you.
“Let us look at His awesome Name,
It has so much meaning for us today.
The meaning of His Name in the original text is…
“I AM WHO I AM” or “I AM THE SELF- EXISENT ONE.” “THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE.”
Psl 90:2. This is shortened to, “I AM HERE.” “THE EVER PRESENT AND LIVING ONE.” This is equivalent to..
“JEHOVAH THE ETERNAL.” I WILL CERTAINLY BE WITH YOU.” Is not this indeed a comfort to you when you are in severe trials, and feel totally abandoned by God, and in deep distress?
His Name is synonymous with His presence. HE IS ALWAYS A “PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE!”
The flames of fire of the bush symbolises, His Divine Presence as in Gen 15:7. (The flaming torch.)
Moses was trying to understand God’s Character, but God reveals His Attributes more than His Character to him.
“No man has been called to a Divine mission without the anointing of the Holy Spirit to accomplish what he has been called to do.”
You have been called and commissioned by the Power of the “Great I Am.”
Sometimes we have to step out in faith first, then God will start revealing who He really is to us. This a life long process.
The closer we draw to Him, we can do greater exploits for Him.
“THOSE THAT KNOW THEIR GOD, SHALL BE STRONG, AND DO GREAT EXPLOITS!” Dan 11:32 b.
I think if Moses really knew the enormity of his task, maybe he wouldn’t have wanted to do the will of God.
One commentator suggests that Moses had made 20 excuses before he said “yes” to God and went back to Egypt.
It was not until he had a true revelation of God, he could step out in confidence .. and do His will. You must keep your mind off yourself and concentrate on Him. Faith must win over fear!
Even Joshua the right-hand man of Moses needed encouragement from the great “I AM.”Josh 1:3-9. Read the passage for yourself and claim the promises He has for you personally..
V3-5, “EVERY PLACE THAT THE SOLE OF YOUR FEET SHALL TREAD UPON. I WILL BE WITH YOU AND I WILL NOT FAIL YOU OR FORSAKE YOU.”
V6,” SO BE STRONG AND VERY COURAGEOUS.”
And as for you my friend ..”GOD WILL LEAD YOU INTO VICTORY.” Roms 8:7.
If you’re feeling afraid and weak and have suffered defeat, as did Joshua, be reminded that Jesus is your Advocate, and the Holy Spirit intercedes for your every prayer.
Josh 7:5-9. Hang on to His Holy Word.
WHAT HE SAYS , HE WILL DO!
Claim His Promises and He will back them up by His Mighty Power..
Jesus has overcome the world.
COURAGE .. IT’S MEANING.
The word courage means ..”The ability to do something that frightens you.”
1. It is Strength .. in the face of grief and pain.
2. It’s Bravery .. To face people that appose you.
3. To have the .. Courage of your convictions.
4. To Act .. upon your beliefs despite danger or disapproval.
Here are five types of courage.
1. Social courage.
2. Moral courage.
3. Emotional courage.
4. Spiritual courage.
5. Physical courage.
The Lord exhorts us to..
BE STRONG IN THE LORD! Eph 6:10
Be DETERMINED and stay FIRM.
Be HEROIC, not thoughtless or reckless! Serve Him with conviction and assurance of His Presence.
“HAVE FAITH IN GOD.”
Believe in yourself and resolve to do His will.
Never give up !! Be a “Lion hearted” Christian!
I love this verse in 1 Cor 15:58.
“BE STEADFAST UNMOVABLE ALWAYS ABOUNDING IN THE WORK OF THE LORD.”
“FOR YOU KNOW THAT NOTHING YOU DO FOR THE LORD IS IN VAIN. (Useless)
The Lord gave Moses some encouraging signs. He looked beyond his faults and saw his potential.
Do not judge people by their behaviour, allow the Goodness of God to lead them on. Bless them and encourage them.
God told Moses to place his hand into his Bosom (translated heart) that stood for who He is .. and take hold of his Rod .. that’s what He will do.
WHAT YOU ARE .. YOU WILL ULTIMATELY DO! ALLOW GOD TO CHANGE YOU.
What is that in your hand?
Take the Rod of God’s power with clean hands and a pure heart .. cleansed by the Blood of Jesus.
Step up and do the will of God until He redirects you, or ushers you into glory.
Then you will hear Him say..
“WELL DONE MY GOOD AND
FAITHFUL SERVANT ..
ENTER INTO THE JOY OF THE LORD.”
