WHY DID DAVID SUCCOMB TO SUCH SIN AS ADULTERY, LIES, and DECEPTION, WHICH LED TO MURDER?
David’s fall should put on Gaurd those of us who have not fallen and save from despair those who have lost.
It came when David was at Ease. Kings at that time should be out at war with their men. He was physically and spiritually at ease. His prayer life was lacking, and he was enjoying his prosperity.
Prayerlessness exposes us to temptation when we are idle.
David had accumulated many wives 2 Sam 5:13. This was unacceptable to God. In Deut 17:17, It was forbidden!
David was a man of strong passions, and he gave way to his unlawful solid desires. Now it led to a great coverup that caused the death of Uriah, a loyal friend of David.

We need to gaurd against the temptation of sin.
James1:14,15. “But every man is tempted when he is drawn away by his lust and enticed. And when lust is conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.”
So we conclude that one unconfessed sin leads to another of a worse kind. We are all tempted in our areas of weakness, and Satan can easily set us up!
The book of James calls us blessed if we endure temptation and we will receive a ‘crown of life’ if we strive against temptation, which God has promised to those that love Him.

David’s sin resulted in years of Suffering. Sin though confessed and forgiven by God, still had its consequences. Read the Divine Sentence upon David found in Chapter 12:11.
“BEHOLD, I WILL RAISE EVIL AGAINST YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.”
This reminded David that the sin was his and must be his Forever. A reminder that sin is not a mistake or someone else’s fault.
SIN IS ALWAYS AGAINST GOD! You must own it! PRAISE THE LORD; WE ARE IN THE AGE OF GRACE!
Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to this Earth and took upon himself our sin and its guilt and shame at the cross and SHED HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD so that we can be free from its condemnation.
“GRACE THAT IS GREATER THAN ALL OUR SINS. GRACE, GRACE, MARVELLOUS GRACE, GRACE THAT IS GREATER THAN ALL OUR SINS!”
You are not a too greater sinner that God will not forgive you, His arms are open wide toward to you. His heart of love longs for you to bow in His presence and humbly confess your sin.

He is faithful and to forgive and cleanse your heart from all sin. Failure, guilt, and remorse. 1 John 1:9.
