SECOND SAMUEL IS THE BOOK OF KING DAVID’S REIGN. King David. A man after God’s own heart. INTRODUCTION: The book covers forty years when David reigns as King, immediately after Saul’s death. King David reigned in Hebron over Judah for seven years and six months. Then in Jerusalem, he reigned over all of Israel and Judah for thirty-three years. David is the real founder of the Monarchy.
